#Koyla #ShahRukhKhan Why it did not work. #Flop

In the nineties, Rakesh Roshan was riding high on the success of back-to-back hits starting from Khudgarz (1987) Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) Kala Bazaar (1989) Kishen-Kanhaiya (1990)  Khel (1992) King Uncle (1993) Karan Arjun (1995)

Post the super successful Karan-Arjun, the expectations from the next Rakesh Roshan directorial venture were sky high. The film had a grand launch. The star cast was also huge, Shah Rukh Khan was already a big star then and Rakesh Roshan's tag - guaranteed a super hit film. But alas it was not destined to be. 

KOYLA, released in April 1997 and got panned by the critics. Though the story line was simple - the larger than life characters of the film somehow did not connect with the audience. 

Drawbacks:

Huge Load of Expectations

The extra ordinary launch, the baggage of earlier hit films like Khoon Bhari Maang, Kala Bazaar, Karan Arjun created a big cloud of expectations on this film. To add to this already heavy baggage was the unique way the film was promoted on TV and media. The making of the film itself was a big hit on the National Television network. It was said that the making was filmed by the then Assistant Director Hrithik Roshan.

Outdated Story and Plot

That was the time when Karan Johar and other film makers were making contemporary films, modern films. Koyla somehow seemed to get trapped in the "thakur" and "gaon" scenario. To add to this the films characters had this weird looking long haired look, right from the hero Shah Rukh Khan to the villain Amrish Puri and the sub villain Salim Ghouse and even the comedian Ashok Saraf.

Shah Rukh Khan muted & a fading Madhuri magic

The plot of the story was that the hero of the film is mute. A typical masala bollywood pot boiler where the hero does not speak a word till the interval was not such a good idea. It was 1997, (though personally I am big fan of Madhuri Dikshit) the Madhuri magic was beginning to fade. The film was heavily dependent on these two characters which somehow did not get translated on screen.

Music

Rajesh Roshan's music was good. But was not liked by all...as the audience had moved in to more peppy numbers dished out by Jatin-Lalit in the form of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaygenge, Yes Boss et all.

An overdose of action 

Undoubtedly, this was the best department of the film. From the overall looks it seemed as if Shah Rukh Khan wanted to do break away from the lovey-dovey image and get into hard core action oriented films. The film saw SRK doing all kinds of things, dodging a helicopter, running over the train, setting himself on flames...but still was not enough to save the film.

Conclusion

Though this film cannot be termed as a Flop (as the trade records do suggest that the film did an Average business in the year 1997). It certainly did not match the hype it created before its release. 

Shot on the most exotic locations with the biggest of the stars, with an enchanting musical score and almost never seen before action sequences it failed to connect the right chord with the audience. 

After watching the film at Minerva (Mumbai) in the first week itself, I was not sure if I liked it or not. The film was big and grand and it served its purpose of entertaining.

#Brahmastra in 2020

दोस्तों, फिल्म ब्रह्मास्त्र शुरू से ही चर्चा का विषय रही है. इस फिल्म की शूटिंग २०१८ के शुरआत मे शुरू हुई थी और ये फिल्म २०१९ की क्रिसमस पर रिलीज़ होनी थी. लेकिन किसी कारन वश फिल्म मे देर हो रही है।  कहा जा रहा की फिल्म स्पेशल इफेक्ट्स से भरपूर है इसलिए वक़्त लग रहा है। 

ये फिल्म एक trilogy के रूप मे बन रही है - मतलब, फिल्म के तीन पार्ट्स आएंगे।   बड़े ही भव्य और अद्भुत

scale पे बन रही इस फिल्म का निर्माण धर्मा प्रोडक्शंस और फॉक्स स्टार स्टूडियोज कर रहे है. फिल्म की कलाकारों की सूचि भी ज़बरदस्त है. रणबीर कपूर, आलिआ भट्ट, अमिताभ बच्चन, नागार्जुना। फ़िल्म मे शाहरुख़ खान भी एक Guest role करने की बात बताई जा रही है.

इस फिल्म का लोगो रिलीज़ किया गया था इस वर्ष कुम्भ मेले के दौरान। ये इस किस्म का पहला लोगो-रिलीज़ था। 

अब इस फिल्म की रिलीज़ मार्च २०२० मे होने की संभावना। बहरहाल हमे इस फिल्म का इंतज़ार रहेगा।

पानीपत v /s  तान्हाजी The Unsung Warrior 

दोस्तों हालही मे दो बड़ी फिल्मो के ट्रेलर रिलीज़ हमने देखे. एक तो है आशुतोष गोवारिकर की पानीपत और दूसरी अजय देवगन की तान्हाजी : The Unsung Warrior . 

दोनों फिल्मे एहतिहासिक फिल्मे है और मराठा और मुग़ल युद्ध की पार्श्वभूमि पर आधारित है। 

फिल्म पानीपत मे हम देखेंगे  की कैसे १७६१ मे सदाशिव राव भाउ ने मराठा सेना का नेतृत्व करते हुए अहमद शाह अब्दाली (अफ़ग़ान के बादशाह) का मुकाबला किया। 

 ये फिल्म पानीपत की तीसरी लड़ाई पर आधारित है।  

पानीपत का निर्देशन किया है आशुतोष गोवारिकर ने, संगीत दिया है अजय-अतुल की जोड़ी ने और निर्माण किया है आशुतोष गोवारिकर प्रोडक्शंस, सुनीता गोवारिकर और रोहित शेलटकर ने.

संजय दत्त, अर्जुन कपूर और कृति सनोन इस फिल्म मे मुख्य भूमिका मे नज़र आएंगे।  ये फिल्म रिलीज़ होगी दिसम्बर ६, २०१९ को।  

फिल्म तान्हाजी  The Unsung Warrior, सत्रवहि शताब्दी की घटना पर आधारित है. मुगल बादशाह औरंगज़ेब  ने जब कोंडाणा किले पर अपनी नज़र जमाई तो छत्रपति शिवजी महाराज ने अपने बहादुर और होनहार सरदार तान्हाजी मालुसरे पर किले को किसी भी हालत मे बचाने की जिम्मेदारी सौंप दी।  और औरंगज़ेब ने अपने तरफ से उदय भान को रवाना कर दिया था. जो युद्ध हुआ ये फिल्म उसे दर्शाएगी। 

इस फिल्म का निर्देशन किया है ओम राउत ने और निर्माता है अजय देवगन फिल्म्स और टी  सीरीज।  फिल्म मे मुख्य भूमिका मे नज़र आएंगे, अजय देवगन, काजोल, सैफ अली खान. संगीत दिया है अजय-अतुल ने. फिल्म रिलीज़ हो रही है जनुअरी १०, २०२०।

About the film

Good Newws is about confusion and a good and funny confusion that's what is clear from the trailer. Two couples who opt for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) method to have children - both couples have the same name and end up getting exchanged. What follows are the funny situations and the film. The film seems to be a journey of the hate and love journey of these two couples.

The film stars Akshay, Kareena, Diljit and Kiara. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films and is Directed by Raj Mehta.

Hello says Aamir, #LaalSinghChaddha

Friends, Aamir today tweeted a "hello" in Punjaabi on his twitter account. 

'Sat Sri Akaal ji, myself Laal....Laal Singh Chaddha', says the tweet. With the tweet is released the first look and poster of the upcoming film Lal Singh Chaddha. Being produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and presented by Viacom 18.

The film is an adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood classic, The Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks in the lead role. The Forrest Gump, in the year of its release was a top grosser of the year and went on to do a clean sweep at the Oscars.

Lal Singh Chaddha is being directed by Advait Chandan  and the Indian adaptation is done by Atul Kulkarni. The film is scheduled for a Christmas release in December 2020.

कुछ इस फिल्म के बारे मे 

दोस्तों ये फिल्म रीमेक है एक पुरानी क्लासिक जिसका नाम भी यही है. पति पत्नी और वो।  ट्रेलर से हमें ये पता चलता है की कहानी एक युवा की है जो अपनी बीवी से परेशान है. ट्रेलर की शुरुआत मे ही पता चल जाता है की इस युवक कि शादी अरेंज्ड मर्रिज है. कहानी भारत की किसी छोटे शहर की है ये भी हमें पता चल जाता है। फिर पति-पत्नी के बीच एक "वो" आ जाती है और कहानी आगे बढ़ती है। 

कलाकार 

कार्तिक आर्यन, भूमि पेडनेकर और अनन्या पांडेय इस फिल्म मे मुख्य भूमिका मे नज़र आएंगे। कार्तिक काफी comfortable लग रहे है अपने किरदार मे।  फिल्म का निर्माण टी-सीरीज और BR फिल्म्स ने मिलके किया है और निर्देशन किया है मुदस्सर अज़ीज़ ने. फिल्म मे नाच-गाना भरपूर है. 

ट्रेलर के मुख्य आकर्षण

ये एक पुरानी कहानी को नए रूप मे दर्शको के पास लाने का प्रयास है. ट्रेलर से तो ऐसे लग रहा है की फिल्म नए दर्शको को भा जाएगी।  ट्रेलर ने अपना काम कर दिया है, अब बाकी पिक्चर कैसी है ये तो दिसंबर ६, २०१९ को पता चल जायेगा. हमारी तरफ से ये ट्रेलर बढ़िया था और इसे रेटिंग मिलेगी ५ मई से ३.

दोस्तों कुछ दिन पहले ये खबर आयी थी की अक्षय कुमार और रोहित शेट्टी के बीच कुछ अनबन हो गयी है, फिल्म सूर्यवंशी की शूटिंग के दौरान. 

इस खबर की पुष्टि करने के लिए इस स्टार-डायरेक्टर जोड़ी ने एक खूब तरकीब निकाली। इन्होने बनाया एक शानदार वीडियो जिसमे ये दोनों आपस मे झगड़ रहे है और आखिर कर उन दोनों को कही लोग आकर छुड़वा देते है।  इस वीडियो की शुरआत मे हमें कैटरिना कैफ भी नज़र आती है जो की ये खबर अपने मोबाइल पर पड़ती है. 

यह वीडियो अक्षय कुमार ने अपने इंस्टाग्राम अकाउंट पे रिलीज़ किया है।  

सूर्यवंशी ये फिल्म करन जोहर और रोहित शेट्टी के निर्माण मे बन रही है. रोहित शेट्टी इस फिल्म का निर्देशन कर रहे है. ये फिल्म सिंघम, सिमबा की franchise को आगे बढ़ाएगी।

फिल्म मार्च २०२० मे रिलीज़ होगी।

दोस्तों जैसे की नाम से समझ आ रहा है, यह फिल्म भारत के बड़े युद्ध पानीपत के ऊपर आधारित है. ये फिल्म आशुतोष गोवारिकर के निर्देशन मै बनी है. मराठा साम्राज्य ने अहमद शाह अब्दाली का कैसे मुकाबला किया इसी विषय पे यह फिल्म बनी है.

कलाकार  

संजय दत्त नज़र आएंगे अहमद शाह अब्दाली के  किरदार मे और सदाशिवराव भाऊ के किरदार मे है अर्जुन कपूर. कृति सनोन भी एक एहम भूमिका मे नज़र आएँगी. अर्जुन कपूर सदाशिवराव के रोल मे कैसे लग रहे है हमें कमैंट्स मे जरूर बताये।

ट्रेलर के मुख्य आकर्षण 

दोस्तों सच कहें तो हमें ट्रेलर ने बिलकुल भी प्रभावित नहीं किया। हालांकि विषय बहुत ही अच्छा है लेकिन ट्रेलर देख कर बाजिराओ मस्तानी, पद्मावत और बाहुबली की याद आ जाती है।   ऐसे पौराणिक कहानी मे dialogue अच्छे और दुमदार होना बहुत ही ज़रूरी होता है. लेकिन उसका अभाव साफ़ नज़र आता है.

प्रोडक्शन 

ट्रेलर से हमें अंदाज़ा हो जाता है की यह फिल्म एक बहुत ही बड़े पैमाने पे बनी  है. आशुतोष गोवारिकर इससे पहले भी ऐसी फिल्मे बना चुके है और वो साऱी ही फिल्मे बेहतरीन थी. जोधा अकबर उन बेहतरीन फिल्मो मे से एक थी. 

ट्रेलर रेटिंग 

ट्रेलर की अगर रेटिंग करे तो केवल ५ मे से २ हो सकती है।  क्यों की  कुछ भी नयी या आक्रामक चीज़ ट्रेलर नहीं दिखा पाया जो की हमें फिल्म के बारे मे उत्सुक बना दे।  बस ये उम्मीद कर सकते है की आशुतोष गोवारिकर हमें disappoint नहीं करेंगे.  फिल्म रिलीज़ होगी ६ दिसंबर, २०१९.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior - Ajay Devgn's 100th film

Today morning, Kajol tweeted this news - celebrating the 100th film of her husband, Ajay Devgn. 

Added in the tweet was the information that Ajay has completed 30 years in the Indian film industry and has done some remarkable films like Phool aur Kaante, Zakhm and the Golmaal series. 

The film Tanhaji - the Unsung Warrior is currently being filmed and is scheduled for a 2020 release. The film will also feature Saif Ali Khan in an important role. 

We congratulate Ajay Devgn on his remarkable journey and wish him and the team of Tanhaji all the luck. 

About Tanhaji Malusare: 

Tanaji Malusare was a army leader in the Maratha Empire. He was a trusted aide of Maratha leader Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in various battles throughout the years. He is most famously known for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 and this battle maybe covered prominently in this film.

टाइगर श्रॉफ की फिल्म बाघी 3 की शूटिंग सर्बिआ  मे हो रही है।  बाघी एक एक्शन से भरपूर फ़्रांचीस है।  साजिद नदिअड्वाला इस के निर्माता है और बाघी 3 अहमद खान के निर्देशन मे बन रही है। इस फिल्म मे रितेश देशमुख भी एक एहम भूमिका मे नज़र आएंगे। 

इस फिल्म की एक्शन ऐसी होगी जो भारतीय दर्शको ने पहले कभी न देखि हो।  फिल्म मे रोमांटिक इंटरेस्ट के लिए श्रद्धा कपूर और अंकिता लोखंडे है. फिल्म मार्च २०२० तक रिलीज़ होने की सम्भावना है और हमें इस फिल्म का इंतज़ार रहेगा.
